The 14th International Vending Technologies and Self-Service Systems Exhibition has come to an end. More than 100 brands demonstrated their innovations, there was an extensive forum program and the results of the VASA award in the sphere of vending were summed up.
After a year’s break due the pandemic, the exhibition became the spring’s impetus to revive the business community. The exhibition was visited by more than 6,000 guests, the forum drew in full halls, and the business program inspired discussions. Unicum, Siba vending, Rheavendors East, Evoca Group, Istochnik Zdorovya, PTA, Formacia, Gumballs, Style ABC, FAS, Assorti, Kit Vending, PFORT, ALMAFOOD, Cheboko and many others participated in the Expo. Notably, the Lavazza company, one of the world’s leading coffee makers, was among the expo participants for the very first time. Other new participants include: Topvending, a vending machine distributor; Talivenda, a wooden stirrer company; PickPoint, a full-cycle logistics service specializing in shipping orders from online stores; Mir Vendinga, a vending machine operator and distributor; Bellis Karaoke Box, an entertainment machine provider; and other businesses.
“This is a historic exhibition for us, and it was the first time we came to VendExpo. There were a lot of people at the exhibition. It feels like the groundwork is being laid for future cooperation, and a lot of meetings were being held. We can really see that business is waking up,” said Nikita Babayan of Lavazza.
“And I missed having a fourth day of the exhibition to visit the forum. We were constantly at the stand, but when I looked at social networks in the evening, and I saw how many cool things there were, and how many events I would have liked to visit," continued his colleague Natalia Saveleva.
During the “Vending in Russia: post-covid trends and near future realities” forum prospects of telemetry and other innovations in payment systems were discussed, along with introduction of self-service systems in retail and services, and trends and innovations in mechanical vending. Moreover, participants of the forum summed up the results of lessons from covid, gave advice to those who have just started vending business, and awarded the winners of the Contest of Innovations in Vending and Self-Service Systems.
The VENDOTEK POS terminal from Terminal Technologies became the winner in the Technical Solution category. The Rhea fresh milk machine from Rheavendors won in the Technical Device category, and Talivenda stirrers in individual packages from Talivenda won in the Consumables category. All in all, 26 entries were submitted, and samples were evaluated by an international jury.
“We presented well as speakers and listened to the forum program, and I liked it all very much. Moreover, we were not only participants, but also winners of the VASA competition, which we took part in for the first time. At VendExpo and BUYBRAND Franchise Market, which take place at the same platform, there is a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. We were very happy to see our partners, to communicate live, and our friends came to visit us at our stand. Considering that last year the exhibition was hampered by quarantine restrictions, it was really pleasant,” said Dmitriy Kornienko, marketing director of Terminal Technologies.
In general, VendExpo and WRS5 exhibitions demonstrated that vending industry is adopting to the current situation. 2020 was a great challenge to manufactures and vendors but most of the companies managed to overcome it.
